In the Chinese culture, Hongbao refers to the simple package of money as a gift.
It is often related to festivals, celebrations, and money, so it is tinged with worldly joy. In our design, we avoided its oriental element, and explored the possibility of designing a Hongbao from the perspective of western culture. Inspired by formal dresses and wedding gowns, we added embroidery and laces to the design, and used the characteristic of printing craft to complete the production. As a result, the Hongbao looks much more surprising compared with the old one, and raises doubts on whether it can really hold money or not. No doubt, it can definitely fit the money, just not too much, which is even better.

红包是中国传统文化里，送钱时的一个简易包装。通常都跟节日有关、跟钱本身有关，都带着一些市井气的喜庆感。我们在设计中避开了这个东方话题，尝试从西方文化的角度尝试红包的设计可能性。像做礼服做婚纱一样，我们选择了绣片和蕾丝的方式去完成这个设计，再利用印刷工艺的特性制作出来。从结果来看，这个红包跟以往的红包比令人错愕，怀疑是否能装钱。这个不用怀疑，肯定能装钱，只是不能装太多钱。这个结果更好。
